1. Start A Blog

This is my favorite side hustle! You can do so many different things with a blog. To be successful with a blog you need to choose a profitable niche if you intend to use Pinterest Marketing.

Example of Profitable Niches:

  • Health and Fitness

2. Freelancing

When I just started working online I was working as a freelance writer. You can write for blogs, ebooks, sales letter, etc.

Platforms that you can go on to find freelance work is Fiverr, Upwork and problogger. I made about $450 working as a freelancer for about 4 months before quitting. A little secret – I was 16 yrs old then!

The main problem I find with working on these platforms is that as a beginner you need to have examples of your work or a portfolio to show it to potential clients. So, I will encourage you to have at least three examples showcasing your skills.

3. Surveys

This is actually a legitimate way to make some extra money and by far the easiest way. No start-up cost and you can start making extra income today! Here are some paid survey sites (no skills or experience needed) to sign up for:

Note:  You can sign up for as many as you want as this will increase your income.

  1. Swagbucks – This platform is known for how reliable and fun it is. The great thing about this platform is that you’re able to get paid in cash with PayPal.
  2. Survey Junkie

These are just a few survey sites but there are tons of different ones that you can sign up for.

Note: Never pay to sign up and take surveys!

4. Virtual Assistant

I don’t think this side hustle will ever be out outdated. Many online businesses need your help! And the most amazing thing about this is that you can work in the comfort of your home with just a computer anywhere in the world.

What does a virtual assistant do?

Your tasks will vary from email marketing, data entry, managing website, creating content, etc. The list of tasks is unending and this position pays very well.

5. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is when you refer a service or product to your viewers or readers in return for a commission. You may need a website or a YouTube channel to make money with this side hustle.

Making money as an affiliate marketer may take some time unless you’re willing to use paid ads. But, this side hustle, in the long run, will bring consistent income.

To get great success with this side hustle, you need to only recommend products or services you know are credible. A blog and affiliate marketing go hand-in-hand.

Basically you can recommend anything you wish from fashion, health, and even blogging tools.

6. Teaching \ Become a tutor

Yes, you can be a remote teacher. What skills do you have? You can teach on budgeting your money, a second language, mathematics or coaching small businesses. The list is unending!

You can teach on platforms such as Thinkific, Udemy, or Teachable.

7. Creating Online Courses

One of the main reasons people come on the internet – is to learn something. You can simply provide the answers they are looking for in a course.

This is a great way to bring passive income month after month.

8. Self Publish on Kindle

This is one of my favorite way to make passive income. This is when you create or write your own book (fiction or nonfiction) and sell it on sites like Amazon. Publishing on Amazon is pretty easy too!

The reason why I love this side hustle business model is that you can launch your book and it will bring extra income monthly on its own. So if you have a hobby or have experience in a particular topic then write about it and sell it to the world. Read this post and how someone made $22,000 in one year from self-publishing.

9. Selling your artwork and crafts on Etsy

Etsy is an online platform where you can sell your handmade products such as vintage and crafts supplies. If you are great at creating arts and crafts work then check out this platform to make extra income.

You can use Pinterest, Instagram or Facebook to promote your products.

10. YouTuber

If you are an introvert like me then this side hustle will, of course, make you a bit uncomfortable.

Video marketing has been increasing in popularity recently and it’s best to get on board NOW. The reality is that many people love to watch videos instead of reading an entire blog post.

Being a YouTuber can be a great way to start making additional income and building a following for yourself.

If you are an upfront person then this idea might be great. With the help of SEO (search engine optimization) you can be successful. You can make YouTube videos about anything and I mean anything.

11. Transcription

Your responsibility is pretty easy! All you have to do is listen to an audio file and then type it out. Pretty easy right?

This could be a podcast, YouTube video, business meetings, etc. In the future, as you receive more clients you can outsource this task at a cheaper rate.

12. Selling Digital Products

Examples of digital products include printables or ebooks. My goal for this year is to venture into this side hustle to bring in more income.

Anyways if you already have a blog and a good number of monthly readers and searching for another way to make extra income then start selling your digital products on Shopify.

Motivation: Sarah Titus made over 1 million in her first year on Shopify selling digital products. Read her story here. If she can do it you can also!

13. Website Testers

The first step to having a successful website is to ensure that it’s user-friendly. The responsibilities of a website tester are to go on the website and validate the colors, the fonts and if it’s easy to use.

Then, all you need to do is take some notes based on your observation and you’re done. This can take you from 5 to 20 minutes. Popular sites to get website testing works on:

14. Rent Your Spare Room With Airbnb

Do you have an extra spare room? Then you can make extra money with Airbnb by renting it out. If you have a boat, treehouse or a yurt then you can also rent it out too.

This side hustle can be extremely profitable if you live where there are a lot of tourist attractions etc.

15. Uber

I was really thinking whether or not I should put this one in this post. I believe that to be successful with this side hustle there are certain factors to consider.

If you live in a city where there is a lot of tourist attraction or mainstream events then there will be a lot of passengers in need of a ride.

I remember a couple of months ago, I was talking to this middle-aged Uber driver and one of the issues was that she doesn’t like to work on Friday and weekend nights because she often encounters passengers under the influence of alcohol and she is afraid.

Even though there is a great chance that she will make extra income on those nights, she decides not to.

Everyone’s experience is different so I encourage you to just try it out and see how it works for you.

16. Starting an Online Social Media Agency

This side hustle was among one of the top three I wanted to do earlier on. Even though this may cause little to no start-up cost you need to have a bit of experience.

You’ll be creating ads for your prospect on various social media platforms, managing their social media and at times creating convertible content. Your main goal is to help the business grow and get more customers.

17. Sell Your Stock Photos

Are you a photographer? Then you need to look into this side hustle as a way to earn extra income. Sites that you can sell your photos on are Shutterstock, Istockphoto or Creative Market.

18. Get Paid To Lose Weight

Need more motivation to lose weight? Then this site called Healthy Wage will boost you to work harder to get your dream body.

You basically need to bet how much weight you can lose while participating in a weight loss challenge. Amazing right? You can win up to $10,000 from winning the bet each month.

19. Cashback When shopping

For cash back or to save when you’re shopping, you can download the Ebates app. You will not make a living with this app but can save a lot of money when shopping.
